The story behind the foundation of the Shelyah jewelry store
Shelyah
This is the story of an improbable encounter between two French men living in Barcelona and a woman from Brussels, Artémi Vasilakis, that happened thanks to a mutual friend. After several months of work on the Art’emi brand and hours of discussion about its position, a new collaboration was born from their respective passions.
Who is Artémi Vasilakis ?
Artémi is a graduate from the Brussels Academy of Arts and the Antwerp Institute of Gemology (HRD). She has worked for several years in the universe of jewelry and diamond in Antwerp before she created her own jewelry brand in her workshop in Brussels in 2002 that carries her name: Art’emi.
She is committed to the creation of her jewelry collections, in gold, silver, vermeil, with precious and semi-precious stones… moving between contemporary creations and fine jewelry, getting inspiration from nature and current shapes, by respecting ethical and environmental rules. Her creations meet quality and elegance requirements because they are sober and fine. They are undoubtedly timeless.
Because the is convinced that a piece of jewelry shows the personality of the person who is wears it, Artémi is one of the pioneers in the field of jewelry customization in Belgium. That’s why from 2003, she has been offering a custom-made engraving service for her jewels to make them unique, just like you. This is undoubtedly where the originality of her creations lies.
Her collaborations
Even though Artémi is above all a jewelry creator, she also takes specific orders, whether it is for silver jewelry with or without semi-precious stones, or golden jewelry with precious stones. Indeed, she strive each time to find the right balance between her creativity and the personality of the person who will wear this piece of jewelry.
Besides, another aspect of her career path is that she collaborated with well-known brands. You can find among them Donaldson, Bâton Rouge, Talking French, Céline, Nathan, Wood Work and Jack & Rose. Even then, she made sure to work while respecting the brand, but also her image and personality. Professionals and clients enjoy her creativity, listening skills and professionalism.
During 18 months, she has worked on the strategy of her brand Art’emi with two young entrepreneurs. Today, in the light of their experiences, the three of them decided to collaborate and to start from a blank page by creating together the jewelry brand Shelyah.
